Bare trees, dead grass, dry roads,
snow’s sheer beauty livens spirits;
Her child is her bliss.

It snowed here yesterday. And it was wonderful to see the roads, trees, lawns covered with white (thanks viswa) gold. Anyone else who enjoyed a similar weather this weekend?

Have a great week, folks.

Brilliant! This probably is your best Haiku so far. Absolutely loved it! I liked the way you have portrayed the dullness, sadness and even the lifelessness of Fall. Everything seems to be on the verge of an end. But then there is snow; with its purity, innocence and promise of preserving the seeds of life safe underneath itself which will be planted in the Spring. To nature, snow must be a clam assurance of hope for a beginning, a new life; exactly how a mother would look at her baby. Your Haiku does a great job of portraying the grief-stricken, helpless, miserable mother. We can imagine a heart-aching tale of her suffering; her hardships and adversaries seem endless. And suddenly, the hint of a baby floods her life with happiness, beauty, enthusiasm, hope; suddenly there is a reason to live, to endure the pain. This baby assures her that she [mother] will continue to live just like the flowers of past Spring continue to live through the seeds and blossom again in next one. Brilliant! There could be some other aspects, analogies that I must have missed. Pray, explain.
    You are gifted. Keep writing.

how nice!!! exactly my thoughts echoed in your comment…i’m no mother, but i’ve heard so many others say how having a baby changes life – new beginnings, new meaning added to life, a lot of hopes and dreams come up..and that is exactly what i wanted to write about…the way snow adds a layer of beauty and brilliance to the dull chilly day, a baby brightens the mother’s life in many ways than anyone can imagine…

thanks for writing this…it would be nice if you leave a name / email :-)…thanks, again!

Amazingly decoded. Do you write as well ? Will love to read your creations.

      i know..i wud love to read too…but he/she never leaves even a name…sigh.

btw, loved the use of the word “decoded” 😆

      • #4 by BlueMist on December 7, 2009 - 11:26 am

I hope Mr./Ms. Noname reads this and understands how eager we are to read his/her creations.

Haiku are to be “decoded” for mortal souls like me 😀

        i know…i hope so too 🙂

awesome poets like you can decode everything for themselves, i’m sure :-)…maybe a different interpretation, a whole new perspective, but can definitely do it, nevertheless :-)..

      • #5 by BlueMist on December 7, 2009 - 11:32 am

ha ha ..that’s why I am unable to write Haiku 😀

hello there, first of all allow me to thank you for your kind words and that the anonymity is out of a lack of knowledge, and talent and not the presence of arrogance or pride. To answer some questions raised here, I do not have a blog nor do I deem myself worthy of any writing abilities. I feel both of you have been gifted / developed a unique perspective and do well in expressing yourself through your writing. Anyone and everyone with basic human emotions can appreciate beauty. e.g. anyone can be mesmerized watching a sunset however there are a select few who can express the essence of its beauty and how profound its emotional impact is. It should suffice to say that I had to write almost 5 times the number of lines to capture the meaning of your 3 line Haiku; and I am still not sure I have got it completely. Yours truly were busy looking out of the window when these qualities were distributed. I very much enjoy and love reading both of yours blogs. I am and would humbly like to remain at the receiving end of this stream of creativity. Titaxy, I am aware that this is not the space to write all these things and I apologize for that but I did not want to be rude to you fine people and I also think since this is your blog, I am answerable for my actions here. Thanks for bearing with me. Please keep writing, there are hundreds like me.

first of all, thank you very much…you are too kind with your words 🙂 …

also, thanks for clarifying about the anonymity :D…i didn’t mean to pressure you…i was just curious as to why someone who writes as well as you do wouldn’t leave a name.. :-)…

and i must say, you have a way with your words…i dunno how you don’t see it 😀 but you write well :-)…

        thanks again… 🙂

      • #7 by BlueMist on December 10, 2009 - 3:53 am

Totally with what T said. The only source for asking about your writings/blog was your way with words. I don’t know if you have not noticed; you write amazingly. It was not in pressure of giving up your anonymity. I respect your privacy and your reasons behind them completely.

The way you put the flow of words; it comes only to gifted ones. You are immensely gifted. 🙂

i agree :D…you shud start writing more 😀
