As I sat alone on the seashore
watching the sun fade away,
I carved your name on the floor
but the waves did not let that stay.
As I stood on a rock so dry
wishing the dark clouds gave way,
I wrote your name in the sky
but the wind blew it away.
As I walked across the park in glee
enjoying the life that moved in flash,
I engraved your name on the tree
but the blaze turned it to ash.
As I slept on my bed lone and sole
dreaming about everything you and me,
I etched your name in my heart and soul
and now there is nothing but we.
This is my entry for Carry On Tuesday #30 prompt – I wrote your name in the sky but the wind blew it away.
