Oh, pretty Flower!

Oh, pretty Flower!

Why wither

leaving behind

your cherished beauty?

Do you not feel

all the love you spread?

Do you not see

all the smiles you bring?

Do you not hear

all the wishes

you give birth to

whispered into eternity?

Do you not smell

the sweet fragrance

of grief bidding goodbye

and joy springing in its place?

Why do you then

wilt away

in a hush

until you’re no more?

What are the

wounds and woes

that keep you up

at night?

Are those dew drops

or tears of pain

that you sport

as dawn breaks?

Are you, too, trying hard

to reconcile the turbulent past

and let go of the

silent sorrows?

Very nice! I like the way you projected yourself into the poem in the end! When you said, “too”, elevates the flower to friend or at least speaking companion. Interesting indeed! I liked the poem a lot and thank you for sharing it. claudy

    thank you!
